Seagems is experiencing global growth and is strengthening the leadership team by hiring an experienced CCO. As part of the global leadership team, you will manage all commercial aspects of Seagems´ operations, report to the CEO and be based at the Seagems HQ in Aalesund, Norway. 

Chief Commercial Officer

As CCO at Seagems your main responsibilities will include leadership of the global sales activities, commercial strategy development and execution, and global expansion of the commercial team. At Seagems we are dedicated to improving the entire value chain for seafood ingredients to the benefit of consumers, producers, and the environment all together – a process where you will be a key driver.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Overall leadership of the global commercial operations
  • Develop the commercial strategy, including identifying market opportunities
  • Execute the global scale-up commercial strategy, establish and lead regional offices, commercial teams, and stategic and local partnerships for accelerated growth
  • Business development through seeking, building and developing new partnerships and opportunities for growth through strategic market alliances
  • Leading, supporting and motivating the global sales and marketing team in achieving the growth targets
  • Collaborating with innovation, R&D and operations to align and achieve commercial activities with overall business goals in Seagems
  • Analyse and act on the competitive landscape, global trends, and new opportunities in the market for seafood ingredients

Desired qualifications: 

  • Masters degree or equivalent in business, commerce or related field
  • Experience as CCO, Commercial Director or equivalent, with commercial leadership internationally
  • Experience and knowledge of the food/ nutrition/ biotech industry is an advantage
  • Experience from emerging markets is an advantage
  • Ability and desire to work on multiple projects concurrently in a results-oriented and deadline driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Norwegian and knowledge of other languages will count as an advantage
  • Experience from execution on global commercial expansion strategies 
  • Passion for social and environmental sustainability

You show a strong drive to follow through and complete commercial tasks. You design organisational outcomes by anticipating and modelling future commercial directions, taking responsibility and ownership for organisational, team and personal commitments. As CCO in Seagems you lead complexity by making decisions based on logical assumptions, relevant facts, examination of alternatives and consideration of available resources, responding decisively in critical situations. You create structure and set clear goals to enable a team to accomplish its objectives and provide clear and consistent feedback, encouragement, and developmental guidance.
