Grieg Seafood is establishing a value added production facility in Gardermoen which will produce products from salmon, both fresh and frozen. As the General Manager at this production facility, you are responsible for developing the organisation and optimising the operations. You will be a driving force in identifying and implementing specific measures that contribute to realising the factory's goals and strategy, and you will be responsible for delivering outstanding results and ensuring optimal performance. As general Manager at Gardermoen you will report to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Daily management and operation of the factory.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the strategy and objectives.
  • Responsible for the continuous development of the factory, including employee development and organisational culture, and by fostering strong collaboration with adjacent parts of the value chain.
  • Actively work on people development, ensuring rational routines, and technological and competitive adaptation.
  • Overall responsibility for budget and financial management.
  • Ensure that operations comply at all times with internal quality systems and the external quality standards to which Grieg Seafood are committed.
  • Responsible for the HSE implementation, management, and reporting.
  • Communication and contact with stakeholders and public authorities related to the factory's operations.

Qualifications:

  • As general manager of the factory it is required that you have documented experience in managing similar production and service operations.
  • Education within the food industry will be considered an advantage. Higher education in related areas such as economics/management/process engineering is considered a strength. Relevant experience and personal suitability can compensate for a lack of formal education.
  • You have extensive leadership experience and can demonstrate experience with structured and targeted work. Additionally, you have a theoretical and practical understanding of how to operate a processing plant.
  • For this position, it is a requirement to be proficient in English, both in writing and orally. If you speak a Scandinavian language it will count as an advantage.
