About the Position

We are currently seeking a new scientist to join our R&D team in Trondheim. The team currently consists of 23 dedicated researchers who are supporting our global markets for fish and shrimp, through delivering high-quality innovation and value to our business.

In the role of Scientist in BioMar, you will be expected to combine scientific rigor with operational agility. You’ll work at the intersection of nutrition science and fast-paced decision-making, contributing to product development with high impact for the business. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in fish and shrimp nutrition and development of aquatic feed products and feed concepts
  • Identify opportunities and implement innovative solutions that deliver a measurable impact
  • Lead national and international research projects
  • Collaborate within a global team of researchers
  • Work closely with technical teams in our local units worldwide

Qualifications: 

  • PhD in nutrition, physiology, animal health, or biotechnology related to fish or shrimp
  • Solid research experience within aquaculture nutrition, handling complex data, statistics and modeling
  • Skilled in project management and stakeholder engagement with the ability to create tangible value
  • Proven network within industry and/or academia

Personal qualities:

  • Ability to work independently, systematically and delivery oriented
  • Good time-management skills
  • Team player and capacity to work under a matrix organization
  • Good communication skills, capable of delivering the right message across a varied audience
  • Skilled in oral and written English language. Mastering additional languages like Spanish, mandarin, or Norwegian is a plus.
